The client chose Flowcrete to suggest a safe and hygienic flooring solution for the bottling area, thanks to Flowcrete’s proven track record of providing sanitary flooring for several food and drink processing and packaging plants in the country.
For this area, 500 m2 of Flowfresh SR was specified in blue to complement the client’s branding. Slip resistance and ease of cleaning were two key specifications that Flowfresh met with ease, thanks to its anti-slip profile and inclusion of Polygiene®, an antibacterial additive that inhibits the growth of bacteria on the floor’s surface. This system also has HACCP International certification and meets the ISO 22196 standard.
To complement the incorporated hygienic properties, falls for drains were also specified and needed to be considered during application. Good drainage in this area, alongside the slip resistant characteristics would help to greatly reduce the risk of slipping on the wet surface, making a safer environment for staff and visitors.
The 6mm profile of this flooring solution also ensured that the flooring could withstand high mechanical stress, and therefore support the heavy machinery that is often found in bottling plants.
The client was extremely impressed with the quick eight-day installation time and the bright, glossy blue finish of the bottling area. Staff could also be safe in the knowledge that the flooring was helping to give them a safe working environment.
