Nambour General Hospital

Polyurethane Deck Coating Used To Protect Hospital Helipad

1,500 m2 of Flowcrete’s Deckshield ID polyurethane deck coating system have been installed on the roof-level helipad at Nambour General Hospital as part of a wider multi million-dollar Government funded refurbishment project.

Nambour General Hospital is a large regional public hospital located in the Sunshine Coast servicing Nambour and the hinterland region.

Deckshield ID in a grey shade, incorporating bright demarcation and signage was selected to protect the helipad.

The Deckshield ID system was specified largely due to its effective anti-slip profile and ability to cope with heavy-duty wear and tear.

Deckshield ID is a low VOC, solvent free, flexible polyurethane deck coating system providing a colourful, watertight, hardwearing and UV resistant surface coating.

As is the case with most helipads, the Nambour General Hospital helipad was originally constructed from concrete and had to be decorated with a letter ‘H’ as well as marked with a circle so as to increase visibility from the air.
