According to the World Health Organisation’s UV Index (a measure of the intensity of UV radiation), across New Zealand the UV radiation in winter is relatively low, reaching averages of just 1-2, however when summer hits, the exposure skyrockets to 7-8.

Floor areas commonly exposed to these UV rays include the top decks of car parking facilities, balconies and internal floors near windows, glass doors or open doors.
